Surgery
The Department of Surgery has begun a Pediatric Surgery Grand

This educational series is sponsored by Baylor College of
Medicine, which designates this activity for one hour of
category 1 CME credit.
Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
New access to call schedules
A new Web-based system has been instituted that will allow
individuals easy access to call schedules and the ability to
page through the Texas Children’s paging system with either
direct page or text messaging. You can access the system through
the intranet Physicians Resource Page, the intranet Favorites
button, or the Texas Children’s applications.
Quality council
A new National Patient Safety Goal has added increased focus to
effective communication during “hand off” of patients from one
caregiver to another. The goal is to implement a standardized
approach to the “hand off” communications, including an
opportunity to ask and respond to questions.
Medical staff bylaws
Changes to the medical staff bylaws that were approved by the
medical staff at the August Quarterly Medical Staff Meeting have
been approved by the Board of Trustees and can now be accessed
through the Physician Resource Center intranet page.
