Texas Children’s and Baylor College
of Medicine hold the
first International Colloquium, which features internationally
recognized speakers and is attended by physicians from Latin American
and the United States.
1995 With
the acquisition of Ashford Pediatric Associates,
Texas Children’s
Pediatric Associates (TCPA), part of Texas Children’s Integrated Delivery
System, is born.
1996 Texas Children’s opens the state’s largest bone
marrow
transplant unit dedicated to treating children.
1997 Texas
Children’s Health Plan begins with the launch of the nation's first
pediatric health maintenance organization (HMO).
1998
The world’s first set of octuplets born alive are born at St. Luke’s
Episcopal Hospital and transferred to Texas
Children’s.

Kangaroo Crew intensive care transport is established to
transport
critically ill babies and children from across the country to Texas
Children’s Hospital.
 >A $345-million expansion, one of the largest health care
expansion projects to date, begins. It is funded in part by the $80-million capital campaign, Building for Children.
