Marti Smith, OTR/L has been practicing OT in school systems,
first steps, and PRN geriatric rehab for nearly a decade. Mrs. Smith
graduated from Indiana University in 1996. Her specialties include
autism, handwriting, and providing creative, quality care while
working in low-income demographic areas. She has authored several
books and DVD’s on treatment strategies with minimal investment. Her
other courses include PT and OT on a Shoestring Budget and Calming
Strategies for Autism.

8-10 What to know to get started; What is normal for each age group?
When do they need to know punctuation, etc.? What about sensory
components? What is therapist vs. teacher responsibility?
10-10:15 BREAK
10:30-11:30 Diagnosing and fixing the problems quickly and
efficiently
11:30-12:30 LUNCH on own
12:30-2:45 Treatment ideas for groups and individuals. Fun and
creative ways to motivate kids.
2:45-3:00 BREAK
3-4 Brainstorming and Networking: Develop a yearly calendar to
implement immediately with fun and creative ideas for each week of
school year.

Cancellation
Policy:
A
written request for a full refund must be received by Texas
Children's Hospital
no later than 21 days prior to the
start of the course. Written requests later than 21 days will
result in a 50% refund; 72 hours or less no refund. Tuition may
only be applied toward another Texas Children's Hospital sponsored
course (courses hosted by TCH do not apply within 6 months of
cancellation. Texas Children's Hospital reserves the right to cancel
the event 10 days prior to the course date and assumes no
responsibility for pre-purchased travel tickets.
