Texas Children’s Feeding Disorders Center

The Feeding Disorders Program offers a
multi-specialist approach to the evaluation and treatment of infants
and children with problems of sucking, swallowing and/or chewing. It
combines the expertise of pediatric gastroenterologists,
occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and dietitians.
Psychological assessment and intervention are also available.
Patients are evaluated as they interact
with their caretakers to determine if their disorder is primarily
physical or behavioral - or a combination of those factors - and to
determine whether further studies are required. Note: patients with
disorders of appetite such as obesity, anorexia nervosa or bulimia
are seen in the
gastroenterology and nutrition clinic.
