About
Bridges Therapeutic Program
The
Bridges Program was initiated through a collaborative effort of Mr.
And Mrs. Lewis E. Brazelton III, a member of the Board of Trustees
of Texas Children's Hospital and
Mr. Mark A. Wallace, president and
chief operating officer of Texas Children's.
Dr. Judith Z. Feigin,
director of the Learning Support Center for Child Psychology at
Texas Children's provided the administrative
and clinical leadership to create the Bridges Therapeutic Program.
With
the philanthropic support of the Houston community and the
continuing guidance of Drs. Serena Wieder and Stanley Greenspan, the
Bridges Program became a reality in 2002. Initially located in Texas Children's Clinical Care
Center, Bridges moved to its present 6000 square feet location in 2003, a space deliberately
designed to accommodate the sensory characteristics of children
with autism. The development of the Bridges program motivated the
creation of a multi-disciplinary diagnostic clinic at Texas
Children's and multiple educational and research efforts at
Baylor College of Medicine.
