The Texas Children’s Allergy and Immunology Clinic provides diagnosis and treatment for pediatric patients with allergy, asthma and primary and secondary immune dysfunction. The spectrum of diseases now being seen by these specialists includes hypersensitivity diseases, severe asthma, antibody deficiencies, and cellular immune defects requiring immune reconstitution.

As a part of the nationwide Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trials Group sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, this department provides a variety of research and treatment options for infants, children and adolescents with HIV infection. Clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of adults with allergy asthma and primary immuno-deficiency is also provided.

The Allergy and Immunology Clinic also is home to the Kids Council-Caregivers League, an organization open to youth ages 13 and older and their caregivers that provides education, community outreach and support for young people affected by HIV/AIDS, their families and their communities.
