From Dr. Lyn
Dr. Lyn’s research interest is in the area of child maltreatment. She is currently involved in several studies looking at both intervention and prevention measures. She is the Director of the Child Maltreatment Subsection. She educates community medical professionals, teachers, law enforcement officers, military personnel, and first responders through SCAN (Suspect Child Abuse & Neglect) community outreach program. She leads the multidisciplinary teams serving maltreated children in the Greater Houston area at Texas Children’s Hospital and The Children Assessment Center Clinic to ensure the most complete coordination of care. She maintains her interest in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and is currently Medical Director of St. Luke’s Sugar Land Pediatric Emergency Department.
Goal: To provide state-of-the-art health care to children seeking emergent services.
Objectives:
- Deliver individualized, high-quality health care to the emergently ill or injured children
- Advance excellence in emergency pediatrics through innovations in research
- Provide world-class education and training in pediatric emergency medicine
- Advance the causes of safety and security for all children through advocacy for their medical, physical and emotional needs
