Dr. Hsu’s research interest lies in medical education and assessment of medical learners. Ongoing projects pertain to the development of a multi-source assessment system for pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) fellows, including a patient perspective survey to be used for evaluation of resident physicians and PEM fellows working clinical shifts in the emergency department. Dr. Hsu has also developed rubric-based evaluations for faculty, self, and peers to evaluate PEM fellows. Her manuscript on "Rubric Based Evaluation of Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellows" was recently accepted for publication in the Journal of Graduate Medical Education. She continues her work on the validation of the other evaluations she has developed, as well s the development of other types of evaluations.
