The heart transplant team
consists of experienced, compassionate medical
professionals who work closely with patients, families
and referring physicians to build strong
relationships. The multidisciplinary team consists of
cardiologists, surgeons, nurses, child-life
specialists, dietitians and social workers.
Pediatric subspecialists from other Texas Children's
clinics, such as
allergy and immunology and
infectious diseases,
also evaluate and follow patients in order to identify
any potential complications.
Each member of the team understands
that a child's life is at stake and values the trust
placed in them. We encourage you to ask as many
questions as possible about the care your child is
receiving and to let us know if you need additional
information at any point during the process.
Texas Children’s is the primary pediatric
training site for
Baylor College of Medicine. The
cardiologists and surgeons of the heart
transplant team also are Baylor faculty members.
