Texas Children’s Cancer Center physician receives two awards

HOUSTON (April 3, 2006) - Dr. Nabil Ahmed, chief fellow at Texas Children’s Cancer Center, recently received two awards from the American Cancer Society of Clinical Oncology.

Ahmed was honored with the 2006 ASCO Foundation Fellowship Merit Award and the Brigid Leventhal Award.  The Fellowship Merit Award, a $2,000 stipend, was established in 1985 to recognize the top abstract submitted by a fellow. The Brigid Leventhal Award, a $1,500 stipend, recognizes the top abstract submitted by a fellow in pediatric oncology.
